Weekend in review

This presidents day weekend hasn't been a good one for me =( Ive been feeling down the whole weekend, since Thursday night it began. I was having trouble getting to sleep, however I slept very late and managed to get all the sleep I need. Friday I was feeling ok throughout the day, until night hit, and I was starting to get very depressed. I was in tears in front of my computer, eventually I was able to calm down, however the time was starting to get very late, so around 4am I finally lay down to sleep, I slept till 11am, however I had a nightmare:

In the nightmare, I was in my room, it was presumably late at night since it was dark, and it was quiet. The room was dark, however there was a strange blue glow to everything. Suddenly, a black bird, i think it was a crow flew in through the window. It then attacked me and scratched my back...

I then woke up shivering, however I managed to fall back asleep and got up at 11am. I was kinda down and moody the whole day. When I was showering, I suddenly broke down crying for no reason. My life is stable at this point, theres no major problems or anything, so its really confusing to me why I'm feeling down. Saturday night I did sleep ok, I went to bed around 2:3o-3a, and got up at around 11a again. Sunday was fine, however I had another late night, I wanted to be in bed by 2am to move myself back to sleeping ealier so i could wake up earleir, but i had yet another late nite, I was up till around 3:30a, and woke upa t 11am. So here I am today, not in the greatest of moods, hopefully I can get this sleeping issues resolved

Valentines Day! Bah Humbag!

Meh Valentines day is here, yet ANOTHER hallmark holiday. I don't really like Valentines day, I feel its too capitalistic. You just have to look to the commercials that come about this time to see, Kay Diamonds has a commercial for people to buy expensive jewelry just for friggin valentines day, not to mention buying overpriced roses or expensive chocolates. If you love someone, why do you need to act like ur winning them over for the first time on just one day, and why would someone in their right mind be mad at not having or getting a cheap valentines day gift, come on! its not Hannukah, its not your birthday, its only February 14th! If you really love someone, youre love would be enough, you wouldnt have to spoil your mates with excess.

On the bright side, incliment weather cancelled my classes today so I get to stay home and vegetate lol.

Weekend is here yay!!!

Im happy that the weekend is finally here, this week seemed to drag on and on, mainly due to the piercing cold weather. I wish global warming would happen so the weather wasnt so cold here, lets get some of those greens up here, and we'll see how much they like freezing their tails off up here. I drive a big sedan, and i'm proud of it. But the nice thing now is I can chill for a bit. I got some project for class to finish, and im gunna head on over to college to finish it on the schools computers, since my ATI Video card isnt strong enuff for all the 3dness in it. Then I gotta print it out on the big poster size paper.

As for artwork goes, I havent had muhc time to do much drawing these past few days. I hope to get some sketching and stuff done this weekend after my work is done. Plus my room could use a good tidying.

Problems with Linux

After trying linux for a week, I can safely say, while its a nice OS, its got a long ways to go before it can topple Microsoft Windows. Its file system is extremely confusing, drivers don't work or lack functionality, and its 3d graphics thing, XGL is buggy and doesnt work right out of the box. However, tis not that, that killed it for me. Its the fact theres not much I can do on there, that I cant already do with Win XP, so what if its free and the programs are free, if the programs it comes with suck, then theres not much i can do. Take Gimp for example, ive never seen such a buggy, crappy, miserable program since opencanvas! Every 6 brushstrokes, it would mysteriously crash. Ill stick with the industry standard, Photoshop thank you very much!

As for artwork, i've been tackling toughter poses and angles, and making sure to put in backgrounds and stuff so the pictures will come out really nicely. Soon when I have time I will write character bios and stuff of Jeanne-Marie and Aurora.

February is here

Welp February is here already, wowie Im in a bit of an artists block rite now, so new pix might be a while Im hopin to get out of it soon. Meeb

I switched to Linux on my laptop! I have the Ubuntu version 6.10. I set it up, a few days ago. Installation was simple, it runs alongside Windows, I have a choice of operating system when I start up my computer, since I still need Windows for some programs, but Linux comes with a lot of good stuff when u install it. Here are a few of the famous ones:

Firefox - an open source internet browser which is a decendant from Netscape Navigator.

OpenOffice - a fully featured word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation suite.

Evolution - a fully featured email, calendar, and contacts program.

Gimp - a nice free alternative to photoshop, I have been testing it, and its really good, it could replace photoshop as my painting program of choice.

The User interface of Ubuntu Linux is called GNome, its kinda like Mac OS. (There is another UI called KDE which looks like windows.) Its very easy to use. The best feature about Linux is.... ITS FREE!! 100% FREE open source software, plus all of the built in apps are free, and fully featured, no trial versions here!
